For seniors, essential self-care can be a struggle due to physical limitations, such as pain in the joints, but also isolation and mental health issues like depression and anxiety. Self-care contains a wide range of healthy habits and activities that must be added to your life on a consistent basis. There are a lot of companies who make healthy food for seniors and bring it to their homes. However, it doesn’t have to be so difficult to eat healthy without actually having to make a big meal, as long as there is some fruit and vegetables in the house. Nowadays there are also a lot of recipes online and in different cook books that are easy and fast to make, so that can not be an excuse anymore.

Responsible use of medicines

As someone gets older, it is common that they are going to take more and more medicine; some they really need, and others that could be unnecessary. The most important thing while taking medicine, is to have knowledge, not only about the specific medicine, but also about the danger of combing multiple medications and treatments. Another thing that is very important is to check how to use the medicine, with every new medicine again. When on the recipe it says; “Do not take with milk, only with water.” do that. There is a reason why it is on the recipe.
